At Unforgettable Results, we believe in the transformative power of language. Not just in how we speak to others—but especially in how we speak to ourselves.
Your words are not just reflections of your life. They are blueprints. They are seeds. They are commands.
Whether you realize it or not, you're constantly narrating your experience—internally and out loud. And the words you choose are shaping how you see yourself, how you respond to challenges, and ultimately, what you believe is possible.
You Are Always Speaking Something Into Motion
Think about your typical day. How often do these kinds of statements sneak into your vocabulary?
“I’m terrible with time.”
“I’m just not cut out for this.”
“This is just the way I am.”
“Nothing ever changes.”
We say these things to be honest, to vent, or because we think it’s realistic. But here’s the truth: Every time you say it, you’re reinforcing it.
Your subconscious doesn’t know the difference between a joke, a vent, or a wish. It simply receives the message and begins shaping your identity around it. That’s why one of the most powerful shifts you can make in your personal growth journey is to become more intentional with your language.
Stop Describing the Life You Don’t Want
We often spend so much time describing the problem that we delay stepping into the solution.
“I’m so overwhelmed.”“I’m stuck.”“It’s always something.”
These statements are like anchors—they keep us moored to a version of life we’re trying to grow out of. And yet, we repeat them so often that they start to feel like truth.
But truth isn’t always what’s real.Sometimes, it’s just what’s repeated.
Speak Like a Creator, Not Just a Reporter
You don’t have to ignore your current reality. But you do have the power to speak from where you’re going, not just where you’ve been.
Try shifting your language from reaction to creation:
“I’m overwhelmed” → “I’m learning to focus on what matters most.”
“I’m not good at this” → “I’m getting better every time I try.”
“I never follow through” → “I’m becoming someone who finishes what they start.”
These aren’t lies. They’re leadership statements. They help your mind, your energy, and your decisions rise to meet the version of you that you’re becoming.
A Daily Practice to Rewrite Your Reality
Here’s something I challenge my clients to do:Every morning, say one sentence out loud that reflects the life you are building.
Even if your circumstances haven’t caught up yet—lead with your words.
Try these:
“I am focused, grounded, and clear.”
“I bring value everywhere I go.”
“I am ready for more—and I’m making space for it.”
“The version of me I admire is already within me.”
This isn’t about magical thinking. It’s about aligning your language with the person you’re becoming—so your choices, energy, and environment start to shift with you.
Coaching Corner: Reflection Questions
Use these prompts to check in with yourself or spark a journaling moment:
What phrases do I say often that may be keeping me stuck?
What would I say instead if I spoke as the creator of my life, not the reporter of my problems?
How would my day change if I spoke with power, possibility, and purpose?
Final Thought
You’re not here to narrate your limitations. You’re here to declare your direction.
So the next time you’re tempted to describe the chaos, the overwhelm, or the impossibility of it all—pause. Breathe. And speak like the person who’s building something Unforgettable.
Because you are.
